Just 20 minutes ferry ride from the glittering Turkish coastline, is the quaint and colourful horseshoe shaped bay of Kastellorizo. This is a glorious spot for a few nights stay, sitting by the harbour with a frappe watching the majestic Caretta Caretta turtles is mesmerising.
Beaches? There are none! But still some fabulous swimming and snorkelling opportunities from the piers into the transluscent warm waters or hop on a boat to the miniscule island of St. George for the day and enjoy lunch at the islet’s Greek-Turkish taverna. Or hire a boat and head over to the unoccupied island of Rho for a romantic picnic. Another must is the Blue Cave (which can also be combined with St. George’s island), get ready to lay low as you enter this magical luminous blue cave with blissfully calm and incredibly warm waters.
Kastellorizo is so close to Kaş, on Turkey’s south-west coast you can easily visit for just a day, but we guarantee you won’t wat to leave and highly recommend at least 3 nights to fully appreciate this unspoilt little gem.
