By Valeria Garibotti on 7th June, 2024

June is a month of transition, where two seasons merge seamlessly into one…

So where should you go in June 2025?

June is the perfect time to visit a plethora of stunning destinations around the world. Perfect for sailing in Greece and mountain hiking in Slovenia if you want to stay closer to home – or why not venture further and enjoy the delightful weather of Indonesia or the fewer visitors in St Lucia?

Where will June 2025 take you?

ZAMBIA

June marks the beginning of an extraordinary safari season in Zambia. Picture yourself amidst vast savannas, witnessing nature’s grand spectacle as wildlife roams freely under the African sun. It’s a time when the majestic Victoria Falls roars with unmatched power, captivating all who behold its awe-inspiring beauty.

But there’s more to this adventure than meets the eye. June brings with it an opportunity to embark on a sustainable safari, where every footprint is mindful of the delicate balance of nature. By choosing eco-conscious practices, we not only preserve the pristine landscapes but also empower local communities and support vital conservation efforts.

So, let’s journey together through Zambia’s untamed landscapes, embracing the spirit of responsible travel and experiencing the magic of Africa in its purest form – Zambia is absolutely where you should go in June 2025. Join us on a safari adventure like no other, where every moment is a testament to the wonders of our planet.

BORNEO

We haven’t exactly been quiet about this: Kuching is our favorite city in Borneo and in June, it’s even more so. Every year, it’s host to the Rainforest World Music Festival which is, in some ways, your typical music festival. Bands, musicians, food, people coming in from everywhere for a weekend. In other ways, it’s like nothing else. The festival takes place at the Sarawak Cultural Village which is in the jungle across the road from the beach and full of replica longhouses. There are monkeys in the trees. It’s possibly one of the calmest music festivals around.

That June is a prime wild orangutan-spotting month and the turtles are laying eggs on Selingan Island makes it a great time for a full Borneo adventure. Be sure to book well in advance as the limited number of hotels and lodges mean full houses in the run-up to peak season.

LAOS

There comes a time in our travels when we want to explore for part of the day and sit back with our feet up for another part of it. Laos in June is made for that schedule. Spend the mornings diving into the culture of Luang Prabang, walking through the scenic north, or exploring ancient temples in the south.

In the afternoon, when a burst of rain hits, take it easy for a spell. Drift out in the evening and smell the earth coming to life with a stroll to dinner or a sunset river cruise. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself moving at the pace of Lao life, in tune with the world around you.

Oh, and as a bonus, the waterfalls tend to hit Goldilocks levels when they’re swimmable and picturesque instead of trickle or a torrent.

Family Bali Holidays

INDONESIA

June is an amazing time to visit Indonesia for several reasons. The weather is typically delightful, with minimal rainfall and lower humidity, ideal for outdoor activities like beach outings, trekking, and wildlife spotting.

Moreover, with fewer tourists compared to peak months, June offers a chance to explore Indonesia’s diverse attractions with more ease and tranquillity. Cultural enthusiasts can immerse themselves in vibrant festivals and traditional ceremonies happening across the country during this period.

Additionally, the lush landscapes, from cascading waterfalls to terraced rice fields, are at their most picturesque in June, perfect for photography and sightseeing. Culinary adventures await with a plethora of delectable Indonesian dishes to savour.  When considering where you should go in June 2025, make sure Indonesia is on your list.

Finally, travellers can often find more affordable accommodations and flight deals, making June a budget-friendly option for experiencing the beauty and charm of Indonesia.

LUXURY GREECE SAILING

You can’t beat that early summer enthusiastic buzz of June in Greece. The sleepiness of the winter is disappearing but the business of ‘high season’ is as far away as the horizon. The temperatures are warm, and the breezes are gentle, enticing you out onto the water for a week of yachting bliss. In fact, the sea is at her bluest and the islands are luscious.

Start your holiday in either Corfu or Kefalonia and let the early season winds carry you North or South. A beautiful time of year to explore as many islands as possible from the comfort of your own yacht. From the traditional fishing villages of Meganissi to the natural beauty of Anti-Paxos it is hard to pick a favourite…and why should you…visit as many as you can!

Dubrovnik Banje Beach

CROATIA

In June, the skies are blue, and days are sunny, but temperatures aren’t scorching, and the crystal-clear Adriatic has warmed up for a dip, making June a great time to island hop to some of the 1000 islands off the coast.

Dubrovnik and Split are buzzing; you can enjoy the Mediterranean vibes with fewer crowds. Summer events and cultural festivals have begun, and the combination of sunny days, fewer people, and vibrant natural beauty and events creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

Whether you want to unwind on the beach, cruise the islands, explore historical sites, or indulge in local culture, June offers a perfect balance.

SLOVENIA

Slovenia is a paradise for nature lovers, with June’s blue skies and sunny days perfect for mountain hikes, swimming in alpine lakes like Bled, Bohinj, and Kranjska Gora, or kayaking and rafting on the Soča Valley’s emerald rivers.

Escape the heat by exploring impressive caves before the peak tourist months. Discover the charming capital of Ljubljana, known for its vibrant cultural scene, including the Summer Festival starting on June 20. Visit the picturesque wine regions and taste exceptional local wines.

Our favourite boutique properties fill up quickly, so book early to secure your stay in this stunning destination.

Where should you go in June 2025?  Slovenia!

ICELAND

Kayak past icebergs and paddleboard through stunning fjords, hike along the famous Laugavegur trail and through the Valley of The Gods.

Go horse riding through fields of lupins and past volcanoes, follow whales off the North Coast and visit beautiful islands. There’s no better time to discover Iceland than during June when you have 20 – 24 hours of daylight and before the busier months of July & August.

Make the most of the warmer weather and opening up of those inaccessible areas during winter and spring. Some of our favourite areas to explore are The Highlands, the islands and The Westfjords. Experience the Lobster Festival in Hofn and the Secret Solstice and Viking Festivals in the Reykjavik area which all take place in June.

Palm Island Grenadines |Fleewinter Tailor-made holidays

THE GRENADINES

We highly recommend visiting St Vincent & The Grenadines during June, in the shoulder season. A little refreshing rain occasionally is a price we’re willing to pay so you can enjoy these idyllic islands with very few visitors around and stay in some wonderful hotels at a fraction of the high-season price.

We can help you decide which islands to explore whether it’s a private island escape you’re looking for or a more bustling vibrant atmosphere, or both! Make sure you time your visit to coincide with the Vincy Mas Carnival in June/July, the ‘Hottest Carnival in the Carribean’.

The streets come alive for 12 days of fun and revelry with an explosion of colour, music, dance and costumes celebrating SVG’s culture, tradition and heritage. The Canuoan Regatta is another spectacular event in May/June featuring sports and games, jump-up street parties, calypso competitions alongside the races. You may go home with yacht envy though!

ST LUCIA

St Lucia’s lush rainforest, cascading waterfalls, mountainous terrain, birdlife and marine reserves make it the perfect Caribbean island to explore. Personally, we like to hike the trails and do a little cycling when there’s plenty of sunny hot weather but also a cool breeze and some refreshing rain and June is the ideal time for this.

It’s outside of the peak season so there will be fewer visitors and good deals to take advantage of before the more humid and busier summer holiday months of July and August and the worst of the rain in September and October.  If you’re wondering where you should go in June 2025, wonder no more – St Lucia is a great option!

At the end of June, join local fisherman at The Fisherman’s Feast, as they celebrate a year of prosperity having their boats blessed, hosting communal lunches and plenty of music and dancing.
