Not your average holiday to Greece

It’s time to fall even more deeply in love with the Mediterranean, as these are not your average holidays to GREECE

A country steeped in history, spectacular scenery, philoxenia (the love of strangers), a fabulous climate and a cuisine that will make your tastebuds dance… Greece is one of the most adored holiday destinations in the world!

This beautiful country and its 6000 stunning islands have long been a popular choice for summer getaways: and with good reason.

We are over the moon to introduce to you a gorgeous selection of hand picked private villas, exclusive boutique hotels and stylish beach resorts, dotted around this enchanting European diamond.

Fall even more deeply in love with Greece: Fleewinter’s latest holiday destination.

Anti-Paxos (IV)

The Ionian Islands

Our journey begins with the breathtaking Ionian Islands, where Fleewinter already offers a luxury sailing programme, navigating the stunning turquoise waters of Corfu, Paxos, Kefalonia, and Lefkada.

We’ve noticed that more and more of our guests are eager to combine the thrill of sailing on a luxury yacht with the adventure of exploring the dramatic Ionian landscapes on land: so we’ve done something about it.

To make the combo of land and sea truly delightful, we’ve handpicked a selection of exquisite properties that perfectly complement your time on the water.

Imagine the best of both worlds — gliding over sparkling waters before relaxing in a gorgeous villa or beachfront hotel. It’s the ultimate Greek getaway!

… plus some lesser known gems

Greece has 6000 islands, 2000 of which are inhabited. Now… we’ll admit. We’ve not been to them all of them just yet.

But the point of this is that there’s a Greek island somewhere with your name on it – so if the bigger more bustling islands aren’t your vibe, don’t worry. There’ll be a sleepy Greek paradise somewhere just for you!

We’ve inspected some fabulous hotels on the charming Saronic Islands of Hydra and Spetses, just a short hop by ferry from Athens – and deemed them worthy of our strict criteria.

Also on our list is Crete, pretty much the largest and southern-most island in Greece, and the tiny but magical Dodecanese island of Kastellorizo, which just happens to be 20 minutes off the Turkish coast…

Athens

Who doesn’t love a European city break?

In Athens, you can explore some of the world’s most monumental sites, like the majestic Acropolis and Parthenon, and wander through the colourful backstreets of historic Plaka.

But that’s not all – how about some beach time on the Athenian Riviera? Head to the upscale suburb of Glyfada to mix some much-needed R&R into your sightseeing adventure.

Plus, with short internal flights to islands all over Greece, ferries and access to the entire mainland, Athens is the perfect city to start or end your coastal getaway.

Spend a few nights soaking up the vibrant culture, delicious cuisine, and rich history before or after your island adventure.

Where and when to go?

Being so far south, Crete and Kastellorizo are blessed with a long summer season, running from April until the end of October.

The Ionian islands are excellent to visit from June to the end of September when it’s pretty much guaranteed there’ll be clear skies and balmy climes.

Athens can of course be visited at any time of year, but we love the Spring and Autumn the most, combined with a few nights on the car free Saronic island of Hydra.

Greece is a fabulously diverse country and outside of the islands boasts a stunning mainland, oft overlooked! Watch this space as we expand our portfolio further and further, so that you can explore this beautiful country year round.

PS… Did you know you can go skiing in Greece?!

Petani Bay Kefalonia

Where to stay?

We offer some sublime choices of accommodation throughout Greece.

Do you need a luxury villa in the Ionian, a small boutique hotel in Athens or a fabulous resort in Crete with extras such as kids clubs or a spa? Have no fear. We will find the perfect pad that ticks all the boxes!

Greece is also incredibly varied: it’s not all Souvlaki and Assyrtiko wine – there are beautiful inland locations too, and we’d be delighted to help you discover the lesser known side of Greece…

Plaka, Athens

What to do?

Greece offers a treasure trove of activities to make your trip unforgettable! Discover sun-kissed beaches, unveil a myriad of historical sights, and savour superb local cuisine.

Let Fleewinter arrange an experience like no other with one of our expert guides – From sampling the street food of Corfu and wine-tasting in Kefalonia to being whisked around incredible Athens by tuk-tuk, we’ll give you an in-depth taste of Greece…

Opa!

G&T anyone?

With Greece’s close proximity to the coastline of Turkey, one of Charlotte’s other specialist destinations, you can now combine a stay in both beautiful countries.

One of our favourite combos is to base yourself in Kalkan on Turkey’s south-west coast in one of our lovely villas, hopping in a taxi to neighbouring Kas and embarking on just a 20 minute ferry ride over to Kastellorizo!

Before you know it, you will be feeding the Caretta turtles and sipping a cold Mythos on the pretty harbourfront: yammas!
