Riddled with beaches and excellent diving; host to multiple festivals; and home to magic, tiny primates, and the chocolate hills, the Visayas keep us coming back for more. Dig your toes in the sand at any number of beaches or dip into a picture-perfect waterfall. Luxuriate in Bohol where some of our favourite resorts beckon with lush gardens, private beaches, organic farms, and in-house art galleries. Don’t forget to see the tarsiers, check out the chocolate hills, and get in the water at Balicasag for a great day of snorkeling or diving. Nearby Siquijor boasts a stunning waterfall, traditional healers, and a history of magic and intrigue. The island of Negros provides access to world-class diving off the eastern coast and a wealth of culture and Filipino history across the hills to the west. Here you can get off the beaten path and experience Filipino culture and hospitality without the crowds.

With international airports in Cebu and Bohol, connections from Manila to multiple airports in the region, and ferries between many of the islands, getting around is relatively easy with a bit of advance planning. It’s hard to choose just one island in this province so if time allows, we recommend including at least two.

The island of Boracay underwent rehabilitation in 2018-19 and the number of visitors is now limited so these pristine white sands are once again a beautiful destination if you’re looking for pure relaxation.
